Gulfstream G250 Makes Debut, One Week after G650

Single News Page

The first super-midsize Gulfstream G250 rolled out today at Israel Aerospace Industries’ facility at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel. IAI is the contract manufacturer for Gulfstream’s midsize business jets, namely the in-production G150 and G200 and the in-development G250, which will replace the G200 in 2011.

G250 S/N 001 rolled out under its own power, just as the wide-cabin G650 did last week when it made its debut at Gulfstream’s Savannah, Ga. plant.

Some 600 people attended the event, including certifying authorities, supplier representatives and members of the G250 development team. “The G250 presents another example of what is possible when two great companies collaborate, combining their state-of-the-art engineering with cutting-edge production skills,” said IAI president and CEO Itzhak Nissan.

According to Gulfstream senior vice president of programs, engineering and test Pres Henne, the Honeywell HTF7250G-powered G250 “features increased speed and range, excellent takeoff performance, an all-new Gulfstream wing, the signature Gulfstream T tail and the PlaneView 250 cockpit based on Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics. Gulfstream announced the G250 at the NBAA Convention last year in Orlando, Fla.

The aircraft is on schedule to fly later this year, with certification and entry-into-service slated for 2011.
