Insurance Competitors Merge

Former insurance competitors Aero Insurance and AirSure have merged to form what officials say is now the “largest general aviation insurance broker in the world.”

The new AirSure, now a division of Van Gilder Insurance, says its insurance portfolio includes more than 1,000 turbine aircraft. The Denver-based company is also the administrator for the National Air Transportation Association’s worker’s compensation safety group program.

On hand at Jeffco to close the deal recently were (left to right) Larry Mattiello, president of the newly merged company; Dell Van Gilder, chairman of Van Gilder Insurance; and Bill Behan, managing director of the new AirSure.
