IS&S Upgrades PC-12 Avionics

Innovative Solutions & Support has announced upgrades to its avionics for the Pilatus PC-12, including enhanced features for current and future owners and a significant new sales channel. Key enhancements include a single-side cockpit option, wide area augmentation system (WAAS) and reduced vertical separation minimum (RVSM) certification.

The single-side cockpit option allows operators to choose a low-cost cockpit avionics alternative while retaining the ability to upgrade to a full display at a later date, the company said. WAAS, currently in development, will be available in the fourth quarter of 2008, allowing PC-12 operators to fly precision approaches at smaller airports. RVSM certification will allow pilots access to the more fuel efficient RVSM airspace at flight level 290 and above.

According to IS&S, central to the enhanced PC-12 program is its new partnership with Finoff Aviation, which will serve as an independent sales agent for the IS&S Cockpit/IP flat panel display system for PC-12 aircraft. Chris Finoff, the former president of Pilatus Business Aircraft, will lead Finoff Aviation.
