Jet Aviation was recently certified for Continued Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) approval for aircraft registered in Bermuda and the Cayman islands. Management by a CAMO-approved organization has been mandatory in the region since September 2008.

Jet Aviation provides CAMO+ and airworthiness reviews for EASA-registered commercial and private aircraft weighing more than 11,400 pounds. It offers a full package of aircraft management services to Bermuda-registered aircraft, including documentation and certification, working with local authorities and all billing and annual review scheduling.

The company’s aircraft management services include in-house international and domestic flight planning and scheduling, flight crew staffing, line operations and maintenance services, as well as insurance, accounting and administrative services.
As one of only two worldwide authorized PATS Aircraft Systems modification centers for auxiliary fuel tank services, Jet Aviation is performing modification work at its Basel and Geneva maintenance centers to comply with FAA AD 2008-22-01, an amendment to SFAR 88.

SFAR 88, which serves to reduce flammability in aircraft, has been in place since December 2002. A 2008 amendment to this regulation specifically addresses auxiliary tank installation in order to prevent the potential of ignition sources inside fuel tanks. Affected operators are required to comply with the amendment by Dec. 16, 2009.

In 2008, PATS Aircraft Systems in Georgetown, Del., approached Jet Aviation because of the firm’s extensive expertise with auxiliary tanks. So far, Jet Aviation has modified more than 20 aircraft and will complete modification on three more by the end of October. It has capacity to modify additional aircraft before the deadline.

• Its Midcoast Aviation affiliate selected Aviation Partners to supply winglets for the Dassault Falcon 2000 series. The installation of the winglets can add up to 260 nm in range, reduce emissions and enhance the resale value of Falcon 2000 and 2000EX. They also enable faster climb to altitude.

• Jet Professionals, a wholly owned subsidiary, created Crew Advantage for business aviation crews to receive training discounts and health and wellness benefits.

• The company created a new jet travel card. With the PT card, members make no upfront capital investment, there are no multi-year contracts to sign and no residual aircraft-value concerns. Aircraft availability is guaranteed, with a wide choice of models starting at $51,500 for 10 hours in a light jet.

• A donation was made to Able Flight, the national nonprofit that provides flight training scholarships to people with a variety of disabilities. Jet Aviation is a founding partner of the organization.
