Jet Aviation Looks West

Zurich, Switzerland-based Jet Aviation today signed a letter of intent with Ogden, Utah-based Kemp Development to open a new Midcoast Aviation maintenance facility and Jet Aviation FBO at Ogden-Hinckley Airport. The Swiss company plans to assume the existing FBO operations of Kemp Jet Services, following the close of the deal.

According to Jet Aviation, the Ogden property, located 30 miles from Salt Lake City, will augment its Midcoast facility in Cahokia, Ill., and the recently acquired Savannah Air Center in Savannah, Ga. “This brand-new Jet Aviation facility would allow us to offer complete coast-to-coast maintenance, repair and overhaul [MRO] coverage for the U.S. market,” noted Jim Ziegler, Jet Aviation’s COO for the Americas.

“[It] is ideally located to serve Western U.S. business aircraft operators with premium MRO and FBO services. Jet Aviation Ogden’s MRO plan includes 70,000 sq ft of maintenance hangars and back shops, allowing it to perform heavy maintenance, component repair, refurbishment and paint for midsize and large-cabin business jets there.

The FBO facility will offer an array of pilot and passenger amenities, in addition to fueling services.
