JetSet Aviation Holdings’s acquisition of the type certificate and associated rights for the MS760 ParisJet could well breathe new life into an aircraft that former owner Socata had probably written off. Designed, built and originally certified in France in the 1950s by Morane-Saulnier, the predecessor of Socata, the new owner calls the MS760 the world’s first very light jet.
While most airplane operators might consider a five-decade-old jet a candidate for recycling, Edward Furtak, an MS760 owner/operator and founder of Florida-based JetSet Global Fuel (Booth No. 4612), sees potential in the little jet. JetSet plans to add new interiors, glass-panel avionics and new paint to the four-place, 380-knot airplane. At a price of roughly $550,000, the pressurized, air-conditioned MS760 could be a winner with folks looking for an inexpensive personal jet.
The MS760’s range varies from 700 to 900 nm with IFR reserves, depending upon the model purchased (Paris I or II). Certified to 25,000 feet, the aircraft is not approved for flight into known-icing conditions. However, its Turbomeca Marbore VI engines are not Stage III compliant.
