Midcoast Aviation, with an eye to the burgeoning narrowbody aircraft completion business, opened a new, three-story 146,000-sq-ft narrowbody completion and refurbishment hangar. The structure features two 48,000-sq-ft bays, connected by a 36,000-sq-ft, three-story center hangar core, as well as 14,000 sq ft of shop space.
The facility represents an $18.5 million investment by the Cahokia, Ill.-based center and will add at least 200 new employees within the first two years of operation. It brings the Midcoast maintenance, modifications and completions and refurbishment complex at St.
Louis Downtown Airport to nearly 650,000 sq ft.
