London Executive Aviation (LEA) will this week take delivery of the second and third of 10 Cessna Citation Mustangs it will receive during 2008 and 2009.
The first aircraft (based at Farnborough) entered operation with the company in February when LEA became the UK’s first Mustang air taxi operator and the first commercial operator of the type in Europe. Delivery number two will be based at London’s Luton Airport and number three at London Stansted Airport, while a fourth and fifth Mustang will join the fleet within the next two weeks, and will be based at Luton and Biggin Hill.
This will mean LEA has aircraft at all of London’s main business aviation airports, said LEA managing director, George Galanopoulos, who added, “What we were waiting to see was how passengers would respond. It turned out that they really liked it. The plane is very cleverly packaged so there is actually plenty of space for four to work and relax.” LEA’s first Mustang accumulated more than 150 revenue hours in its first two months, with an average stage length of 400 miles, said Galanopoulos.
