Ruag, the Swiss aerospace and defense group, announced a joint venture with List of Austria to offer customers a one-stop shop for simultaneous maintenance and interior refurbishing of executive aircraft. In its facilities in Bern, Geneva, Lugano, Oberpfaffenhofen, Stuttgart and Zurich, Ruag (Booth No. 236) offers maintenance for most models from Bombardier, Cessna, Dassault, Gulfstream, Hawker Beechcraft and Embraer, but up to now was little involved in interior refurbishing.
List has been active in interior decoration since 1950, first of buildings, then of yachts and, since 2002, of aircraft. The company has supplied several hundred shipsets of interior panels and subassemblies for Bombardier’s Learjet and Challenger series, mostly thin high-gloss wood panels glued on light fiber material.
During the first stage of the joint venture, Ruag and List will not offer completions of new aircraft, concentrating instead on refurbishment of used aircraft, where the skills of both companies complete each other ideally.
Refurbishments will mostly be carried out at Ruag’s Oberpfaffenhofen and Geneva facilities, where the company has large paint shops for aircraft up to BBJ and A320 size.
