Sennheiser Aerospace (Booth No. 1196) is exhibiting its newest aviation headset, the HME 26/HMEC 26, for which the company guarantees reliable voice transmission in the cockpits of jets and propeller airplanes. It is the successor to the HME/HMEC 25 family of headsets and provides the same professional audio as well as improvements in comfort while also incorporating the modular microphone boom and cable construction of the lighter HME/HMEC 46 series microphones introduced in 2007.
According to Sennheiser, this modularity ensures compatibility with every aircraft interface and speed/ease of repair when these most-often-repaired-components must be replaced. The closed earcup design provides the appropriate sound attenuation in noisier jet and turboprop aircraft.
The 26 series also includes the option of electronic “stereo talk-through” (STT). STT allows the wearer to safely hear cockpit conversation through the earcups while protecting hearing. It enables crew conversation without removing the earcup.
