The Venerable L-1011 Gets the Executive Treatment

The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar as an airliner has already flown into the sunset, but it is finding new life in an executive role. According to King Aerospace director of corporate aircraft services Don Salisbury, the company delivered an executive L-1011 bizliner major refurbishment on January 11, on schedule and just eight months after the widebody trijet rolled into the Ardmore, Okla.

With negotiations under way for a 757 completion and with another client for a multiple-aircraft contract, it’s just as well King is adding a second paint shop and a new wood shop.
