TrueNorth Avionics (Booth No. 1671) on Monday introduced SimphonŻe Global Broadband, a compact satellite-based high-speed data system for worldwide business aviation use.
SimphonŻe Global Broadband components weigh less than 20 pounds and include a 2-MCU satellite data unit, a high-power amplifier/diplexer unit and an antenna. The system is compatible with the SimphonŻe Chorus system and offers initial service via Inmarsat Swift64. It will be available in the first quarter of next year and is priced less than $100,000, according to TrueNorth.
For the light jet and turboprop segments, the company has introduced the two-channel SimphonŻe Prelude airborne telephone system. It is based on SimphonŻe equipment for large jets and features the companys ClearCall technology, menu-driven handsets and all-digital architecture. The system can be upgraded, allowing operators capabilities such as Inmarsat satcom, broadband data and WiFi.
With the SimphonŻe Prelude, more executives can manage their business communications from the air, no matter what class of corporate aircraft they fly, said TrueNorth CEO Mark van Berkel. Enhancing their current capabilities, the SimphonŻe Prelude also ensures operators that their airborne telephone will never become obsolete.
Full-scale production of the SimphonŻe Prelude will start in the first quarter of next year. The company will accept orders will through the end of the year, at a pre-introduction price of $29,000.
