Trust Pledges $2 Million for ERAU Mx Science Building

The Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust–funded in memory of aviation pioneer Emil Buehler–has pledged $2 million toward building an aviation maintenance science building at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach campus. The 46,000-sq-ft facility, which will be named the Emil Buehler Aviation Maintenance Science building, will serve students enrolled in Embry-Riddle’s Aviation Maintenance Science program.

The building will house a series of labs dedicated to aircraft systems, turbine engines, metallic and composite materials, avionics and aviation electronics. It will also include classrooms, a certified engine repair station, a machine shop, offices and a third-floor observation deck overlooking the Daytona Beach International Airport’s runways.

“The new Emil Buehler Aviation Maintenance Science Building will advance Embry-Riddle’s mission to provide students with the best aviation-related training and technology available anywhere,” said Dr. John Johnson, Embry-Riddle’s president.

“Once complete, the Buehler Aviation Maintenance Science building will be the finest aviation maintenance training facility in the nation.”
