UTair Announces European Expansion

Piestany, Slovakia-based UTair Europe has announced “an expansion of its flight destinations and an increase in helicopter services” throughout Europe. It will thus build on momentum started by its two Mi-8Ts and two Mi-171s, which have been involved in a number of aerial work operations.

During the summer UTair Europe signed contracts to install several ski lifts. In September, one UTair Mi-171 was used to build five ski lifts at European ski resorts in Poland and Slovakia. Plans call for completing ski lifts in Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina by year-end.

Another task this year has been to revamp the electricity transmission line in a mountainous area in eastern Slovakia. Also, contracted by a mobile telephone service provider, UTair used an Mi-171 to install a telecommunications tower in the mountains of Slovakia.
