Comlux Aviation Group had an “excellent” year in 2012 and is expecting even better in 2013, according to chairman and president Richard Gaona. Odyssey Aerospace Components, a manufacturer of business jet interior cabinetry and components, is hiring, with jobs open for cabinetry manufacturers and stress engineers. Eurocopter continues to search for the root cause of the main gearbox failure that resulted in forced but controlled ditchings by two EC225s last year. Tamarack Aerospace received a contract this week for up to 10 CitationJet active winglet kits (a firm order for three with options on seven more) from Fort Myers, Fla.-based business aircraft broker Premier Jet Aviation. Aerion, which aims to develop a supersonic business jet, promoted Doug Nichols to CEO yesterday. Nichols, who was previously COO at the company, also joined Aerion’s board of directors. In his new capacity he is responsible for all corporate activities of Aerion, including its recently acquired Desktop Aeronautics aerospace software and consultancy subsidiary based in Palo Alto, Calif. “Doug’s promotion…will allow an increasingly vertically integrated Aerion to expand and monetize its portfolio of transonic and supersonic intellectual property,” said Robert M.
