FDC/aerofilter has obtained FAA approval for unrestricted flight in falling and blowing snow conditions for its engine inlet barrier filter (IBF) systems for the Eurocopter AS 350B/BA/B2/B3/B4 and EC 130B4.
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has proposed a standard that will define air quality and comfort levels on commercial airplanes, but it is not related to any FAA study or any planned rulemaking.
Agusta Aerospace has selected Aerospace Filtration Systems (AFS) to develop and certify a high-performance inlet barrier filter (IBF) for the A119 Koala. The modular design will allow a direct replacement of the FOD screen or engine air particle separator. AFS is targeting a mid-year certification for the system that will be available to existing Koala customers as well as future deliveries.
Aerospace Filtration Systems has received STC approval for an inlet barrier filter (IBF) for the Bell Model 206B, the company announced.
The system has flat filter assemblies and an integral bypass design, the St. Louis company said, adding that the filter can be replaced via a quick access door in 15 minutes. All the features incorporated into the Bell 407/206L3/L4 filter system are included in the 206B design.
Aerospace Filtration Systems (AFS) and Donaldson Co. (DCI) are at Booth No. 1289 to display solutions they have jointly developed for new and retrofit inlet barrier filtration (IBF) systems for helicopters. The AFS/DCI team is pursuing development of commercially certified and military qualified filter assemblies that use a new Donaldson proprietary dry filter media and a durable new oiled media.
