Mid-Canada Mod Center (MC2) was recently awarded an STC for a new avionics suite on Bombardier Challengers. The company installed a suite of Universal Avionics components, including a four-tube EFI-640 flat-panel integrated display, MFD-640 multifunction display, Universal terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS), Dual UNS-1F flight management systems and Universal Cockpit Display (UCD).

The merger of two small avionics firms, Sfim and Arnav, has led to the creation of Sagem Avionics, a Grand Prairie, Texas-based company with about 50 employees and a line of specialty equipment ranging from autopilots and flight-data acquisition units to satcom systems and glass displays for experimental-category aircraft.

BEECH 65-A90, FENTRESS, TEXAS, OCT. 17, 2003–King Air N511BF was destroyed during a forced landing at approximately 3:30 p.m., following a loss of engine power near Fentress. The sole-occupant commercial-rated pilot sustained minor injuries. The King Air A90 was registered to American Aircraft Sales International of Venice, Fla., and was operated by Sky Dive San Marcos of San Marcos, Texas.
The Magic 2100 digital flight-control system from Meggitt Avionics has gained STC approvals in the Twin Commander 690C/D and 695A/B (Models 840, 900, 980 and 1000) and the King Air 90, the company announced last month.
