Worldwide business jet deliveries rose by 4 percent, to 129 units, in the first quarter, according to statistics released today by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. Pressurized turboprops, meanwhile, saw an increase of nearly 53 percent year-over-year.
A Beechcraft 1900 on an April 7 ferry flight from Namibia is missing and assumed lost in the South Atlantic Ocean near Sao Tome off the southwest corner of Africa. Neither the pilot, the sole occupant of the aircraft, nor any portions of the airframe have been recovered. Weather at the time of the accident was reported as heavy rain, with lightning and high winds.

Asset Insight has released a new tool that it says will enable aircraft buyers, sellers and lenders to accurately assess the maintenance condition of an aircraft in order to assign a more accurate value to it. The Amissville, Va.-based company’s asset grading process is based on algorithms analyzing the current age, hours and cycles on major areas such as airframe, engines, paint and interior for virtually any aircraft flying today, as well as the cost to repair or replace those items.
Jet Support Services (JSSI) named Neil Book as its new president andCEO on December 6, succeeding Louis Seno, who will serve as chairman emeritus and special advisor to the board of directors. Book has served on the company’s board for the past three years and earlier this year joinedJSSI as co-president, where he has led the sales, marketing and technical servicesteams.

Jet Aviation’s St. Louis facility reorganized its MRO teams into airframe-specific support teams to better focus aircraft support and increase customer satisfaction. The new MRO structure has a lead manager for each of the major business aircraft product lines who is responsible for customer satisfaction, the quality of work and employee safety and satisfaction.
The business operations managers for the four teams are: Bob O’Leary, Hawker Beech/Falcon; Shawn Miller, Bombardier Global; Morris Smith, Gulfstream; and Vinnie Venditto, Bombardier Challenger.
