Paris Air Show organizers have introduced a range of improvements aimed at making the huge biennial trade fair a more user-friendly proposition when it is staged at Le Bourget Airport from June 17-23. At an April 30 press conference in London, Emeric d’Arcimoles, chairman and CEO of show organizers SIAE, said that the show has been sold out for several months and that organizer SIAE has two main aims this year: providing more services for exhibitors and an improved experience for visitors.

Comac’s developing C919 is expected to take center stage at Airshow China in 2014.

The 10th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition–popularly known as Airshow China–will be held in Zhuhai, Guandong from Nov. 11-16, 2014. Started in 1996 as the Zhuhai Airshow, it has since been held biennially. It is the only international aerospace trade show in China with a flying display that is endorsed by the State Council in Beijing.

The 2013 Paris Air Show–the 50th since the biennial event started in 1909–opens on Monday with its exhibitor count at a 10-year high of 2,200 companies from 44 countries. Much of the pre-show excitement this week has been built on expectations that Airbus might take the opportunity to give its new A350XWB airliner a high-profile public debut.

Dubai Airshow organizing firm F&E Aerospace (Booth 827) said that the show’s new venue is on schedule for completion, with just 90 days until Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects officially hands over the keys for the show site. The biennial event will take place November 17 to 21 at Dubai World Central (DWC) in Jebel Ali. This year, more than 60,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors are expected.

While at first glance the 2013 Paris Air Show might look much the same as previous editions, it promises new wrinkles for attendees. This time around, the biennial gathering at Le Bourget Airport will focus on attracting young people into the aerospace workforce and on business-to-business opportunities, said the show’s new chairman and CEO, Emeric d’Arcimoles. Speaking at a show organizers’ news conference last Wednesday in Washington, D.C., d’Arcimoles lamented a seeming lack of interest in aerospace by young people.

Though largely overshadowed by a heavy military presence, the business aviation sector made its voice heard at last month’s Aero India show in Bangalore (February 6 to 10). Serious obstacles continue to stand in the way of those trying to fulfill bizav’s undoubted potential in this vast emerging market (see box), but this has not deterred the major manufacturers from increasing their presence in India.

Indian defense minister Shri AK Antony will inaugurate the ninth biennial Aero India show at the Yelahanka Air Force Station near Bangalore on Wednesday. The February 6-10 event will once again have a strong bias towards the defense sector, but should also see evidence of Indian companies progressing upwards through the aerospace food chain.

Like a mirage in the  desert, the MEBA aircraft park shimmers under a December sun. Some 7,000 visitors from around the world journeyed to Dubai  to rub shoulders with like-minded aviation travelers.

The Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA) show’s first appearance at the Dubai World Central aerotropolis Al Maktoum International Airport is expected to see a record number of attendees, “with over 7,000 trade visitors expected,” show organizer F&E Aerospace told AIN yesterday.
