Airbus Corporate Jet Centre has added new contracts in 2014 for its cabin and airframe services for Airbus Corporate Jet aircraft. Two Asian customers have appointed ACJC as their continuous airworthiness management organization (CAMO) for the outfitting phase of their ACJs, while an eastern European government operator of two ACJ319s has extended its VIP Pass contract for another year. The VIP Pass was introduced in 2009 as a total support package covering CAMO services, maintenance checks and component support.

Airbus Corporate Jet Centre has strengthened its Asian market position with the signing of a contract to design and outfit an executive Airbus ACJ319.

The Airbus Corporate Jet Center (ACJC) has become the first completion center to install and activate a global communication suite (GCS) on a single-aisle Airbus. According to the company, Panasonic’s Ku-band antenna provides “superior” performance at high latitudes and in the equatorial region, with the Internet support necessary to operate an office or provide robust entertainment. Using only a single antenna, ACJC’s unidentified Middle Eastern client will be able to watch real-time TV from all over the world, enjoying the same type of entertainment at 35,000 feet that he would at home.

Airbus Corporate Jet Center is the first completion shop to install and activate a Ku-band-based “global communication suite” on a single-aisle Airbus, in this case an ACJ319. Installed in close collaboration with Panasonic, the system’s Ku-Band antenna provides “superior performance” at high latitudes and in the equatorial region, offering high-speed data and live TV anywhere around the world. Ku-band antennas are typically used by airlines, though ACJC said demand is picking up for this technology in the business jet market.

The Airbus Corporate Jet Center (ACJC), Airbus’s bizliner completion center in Toulouse, has found ways to cut cabin weight on the ACJ320s and ACJ319s it outfits with luxury interiors. It is also unveiling, this month at the EBACE 2013 show in Geneva, a new cabin concept.

The weight reduction, “on the order of 10 percent, or between 1,100 and 1,500 pounds,” according to CEO Benoît Defforge, was the result of “redesign[ed] furniture fittings,” solutions inspired by serial production (as opposed to customized cabins) and use of lighter composite materials for the furniture itself.
