CMC Electronics (Hall 4 Stand C16a) signed a contract to supply its latest flight management system, the CMA-9000, for the Thales cockpit in the Russian Regional Jet. Designed to carry between 63 and 98 passengers (depending on the version), the RRJ is under development at Sukhoi. The cockpit is said to be similar to that of the Airbus A380, which will be delivered with an FMS from Honeywell.

The program provides comparative pricing from multiple fuel suppliers at virtually all major U.S. and Canadian airports and FBOs frequently used by business aviation.

Staying connected is getting easier, as Arinc Direct announced that its SkyLink broadband Internet service for business jets is now available above more than 20 European countries. According to the company, SkyLink is the only commercially available ultra-high-speed Ku-band Internet satellite service for business aircraft. Additional coverage is under development to connect SkyLink’s North American coverage with Europe.

Rockwell Collins will be able to continue providing satellite broadband network service to its eXchange business aircraft customers thanks to a deal announced at NBAA with Arinc to bring eXchange onto the SkyLink satellite data network. The agreement fills the void left when Boeing announced earlier this year that it was discontinuing its Connexion satellite communication service, which had handled the eXchange traffic.

Arinc Direct’s FAA Part 145 certified repair station at the Scottsdale, Ariz. airport is now a factory authorized service center for the Piaggio Avanti and Avanti II. Arinc Direct Scottsdale becomes only the second Part 145 repair center in the U.S. to earn the Piaggio factory service authorization, according to Piaggio. Arinc Direct is at NBAA’06 Booth No. 758 with details on its services and capabilities.

Gulfstream has received a third STC for installation of high-speed Broad Band Multi-Link (BBML) data systems, this time in the ultra-long-range G550/G500. The approval opens the door for installations of equipment used for connecting laptop computers and other Web-enabled devices with the Arinc SkyLink and Direct broadband satellite data service.
