Shandong Qi Xiang General Aviation and MD Helicopters’ Chinese distributor, Avion Pacific, reached an agreement for delivery of an MD500E light turbine single in the second quarter. The sale to Qi Xiang GA is the market debut in China for the MD500 series, which includes the 500E, 520N and 530F. The transaction marks the first reported sale in China’s general aviation industry so far this year. Avion is confident that the MD500 series will “rapidly gain market share with its outstanding performance and top-notch customer service.”

Travelers flying to Midland International Airport in Texas can now earn Avtrip points at Avion Flight Centre, which has joined the Avfuel network. U.S. Customs officers are on-site for speedy clearance.
British Airways announced it is taking over France-based L’Avion, the last remaining all-business-class carrier on a transatlantic route. The 18-month-old startup airline will be merged with BA subsidiary OpenSkies. The two operators have been code-sharing for less than one month between Paris Orly and New York. OpenSkies and L’Avion use JFK and Newark Airports, respectively.

Hawker Beechcraft Corp. has selected Hong Kong-based Avion Logistics Ltd. as an authorized parts distributor for Asia. Scheduled to start operating on March 15, Avion Logistics becomes a part of Hawker Beechcraft’s rapid aircraft parts Inventory and distribution (RAPID) network. The new company is a joint venture between Avion Pacific and Seacor.
Deer Horn Aviation has acquired Avion Flight Centre at Midland International Airport (MAF), Texas. The FBO will retain the name Avion Flight Centre. As part of the acquisition, Deer Horn signed a 35-year land lease with the city of Midland for the 39.5-acre leasehold. The Avion facility includes 400,000 sq ft of hangar/office space and a 320,000-gallon fuel farm. A new terminal complex is scheduled for completion in June.
