Evergreen Apple Nigeria (EAN) has been selected by Sharjah, UAE-based aviation business services firm Avjet Routing as its preferred ground handler in Nigeria, with principal services being provided at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The agreement, which was ratified last month, means that all private and business aviation traffic from Avjet Routing passing through Lagos will be handled exclusively by Evergreen Apple Nigeria.
Jet Aviation has launched a global refurbishment program “to renew and harmonize the look and feel” at its FBOs and major maintenance facilities worldwide. The makeover will start with Jet Aviation’s Geneva, Zurich and Basel facilities in Switzerland, focusing on the lobbies and customer and crew lounges. By 2015, all of its FBOs and major MROs worldwide will be updated.
Universal Aviation has opened an FBO at Venice’s Marco Polo Airport. The 24/7 facility offers ground handling, fuel and trip-support services, as well as concierge and customs, immigration and quarantine. The Venice base augments the company’s three other Italian bases at Rome Ciampino Airport and Milan’s Malpensa and Linate airports.
United Arab Emirates-based flight planning and support group Avjet Routing is expanding operations into Europe with the opening of new offices in Geneva and Istanbul, Turkey. According to Avjet CEO Sam Wanli, the Sharjah-based company intends to establish operations in other European cities as it seeks to expand its customer base beyond the Arabian Gulf region.
Despite what Avjet Routing (Stand C225) called a year of "uncontrollable economic factors," the Sharjah-based aircraft handling company said it recorded a year of strong growth, strong enough, in fact, that the company labeled its 2010 performance to date as "exceptional." Growth came through a number of new contacts joining its AV-Global Network.
Rockwell Collins yesterday completed the acquisition of AR Group and its affiliated companies, including business aviation trip-support services provider Air Routing International.

The company’s SD Flight Tracker is a Web-based service designed to deliver precise aircraft global positioning via Inmarsat, Iridium, VHF and broadband networks. It also provides real-time satellite system status and expands the capabilities of Satcom’s FlightDeck Freedom (FDF) service.
Universal Weather and Aviation is unveiling several new services and tools here at NBAA’06 at Booth No. 209. Its 2007 UVTripPlanner software release is making its debut, along with an interactive CD-ROM version. Visitors also can see the prototype Web-based version of UVTripPlanner.
