BLR Aerospace has achieved FAA certification for its latest upgrade package for the King Air 200 series turboprops. The Everett, Wash.-based performance enhancement specialist’s new Ultimate Performance Package (UPP) for the B200GT, developed in conjunction with Hawker Beechcraft, includes the BLR winglet system, the Raisbeck Ram-Air Recovery System and Hartzell’s newest composite four-blade propellers.

Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (HBC) announced at NBAA 2011 in Las Vegas today that, together with Rockwell Collins, it has launched an aftermarket program to upgrade Pro Line Fusion displays to all fielded Pro Line 21-equipped Hawker and Beechcraft aircraft.
Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (GCS) announced yesterday at NBAA 2011 in Las Vegas that, together with Rockwell Collins, it has launched an aftermarket program to offer new upgrade Pro Line Fusion displays avionics for to all fielded Pro Line 21-equipped Hawker and Beechcraft airplanes. The Fusion upgrade features large-format, landscape-oriented, touchscreen displays that come standard with the synthetic vision and visual flight management system, with a target price of less than $300,000 installed. Hawker Beechcraft GCS will initially offer upgrades to the King Air fleet, followed by Hawkers and Premiers. Certification is expected before the end of 2013.
Each year, NBAA recognizes the top aviation maintenance and avionics technicians with excellent safety records who work for member companies. Maintaining corporate aircraft or avionics for three accident-free years is the minimum requirement for an NBAA Safety Award but the actual number of years for many of the top technicians adds up to four decades or more.
Aviation Fabricators has received an STC approval for its arm-ledge/table design for the Hawker Beechcraft King Air C90, E90, F90 and 200.
The package is designed to combine style with functionality and update the aircraft to the same look and feel as new King Air models. It also allows more usable room on the seat-service and features built-in cup holders to replace the old “flip-out” variants.
Raisbeck Engineering expects soon to receive certification by the Chinese Civil Aviation Authority (CAAC) for two of its Hawker Beechcraft King Air 350 products, dual aft body strakes and nacelle wing lockers. Once certification is granted, sales of the systems to Chinese customers are imminent, according to Bill Lally, Raisbeck’s FAA coordinator.
The first six months of the year proved disheartening for those who hoped for an uptick in aircraft deliveries. According to first-half numbers provided by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), total industry billings were down 22.3 percent compared with the first half of last year, to $7.3 billion, from $9.4 billion, while total shipments were off 15.5 percent in that span.
BLR Aerospace received FAA approval for its Ultimate Performance Package (UPP) for the King Air 200GT. The modifications, which were developed in partnership with Hawker Beechcraft, include BLR composite winglets, Hartzell four-blade composite propellers and the Raisbeck ram-air recovery system. EASA and Brazil ANAC certification is pending.
Cobham(Hall 2B EF167) delivered four converted Hawker Beechcraft B350ER King Air special mission aircraft to Ascent Flight Training for the UK Military Flying Training System on June 9. The delivery was made at the Cobham Aviation Services facility adjacent to Bournemouth International Airport.
