Innovative Advantage (Booth 1655) has designated Associated Air Center of Dallas, Texas, as a preferred completion center for the installation and certification of its audio/video distribution systems (AVDS) on Boeing BBJ and Airbus ACJ platforms. The partnership follows the installation of Redmond, Washington-based Innovative Advantage’s AVDS as part of a high-definition (HD) upgrade for the refurbishment of a BBJ for a West African head of state at Associated Air Center (Booth 2047) earlier this year.

A Lufthansa Technik rendering features a stateroom proposal for  an executive Boeing 787.

Cabin MRO, completions and refurbishment giant Lufthansa Technik (Booth 1031) is expanding its innovation engineering capability at its base in Hamburg, Germany. This year, according to Andrew Muirhead, who runs the Innovation Business Unit, the 55-person core team will be boosted by seven additional posts, and further staff positions will be required in 2014 and 2015.

BBJ cabin interior

Boeing Business Jets (BBJ, Booth 7010) is displaying its first production BBJ3 this week at EBACE 2013 and says the aircraft is for a Middle Eastern customer. Seven BBJ3s have been ordered so far, with three in completion, four in service and another scheduled to enter into service in June, according to Boeing.

Amjet MCDonnell Douglas MD-83

One of the largest aircraft on display here at EBACE is a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 operated by Athens-based Amjet Executive (Booth 819), which has its charter business located here in Geneva. The aircraft is fresh out of the workshop having undergone a major overhaul that has turned an airliner workhorse into a VVIP transport that is fit for a head of state.

Jet Aviation Dubai has been authorized to provide base and line maintenance for the Boeing 737 700/800, Embraer 135/145, Falcon 900EX EASy, Gulfstream IV/V/450 and Hawker 800/900 in addition to its existing approval for Falcon 7X/2000 line maintenance. Jet Aviation Dubai’s maintenance and FBO location was established in May 2005 as a joint venture company with the AL Mulla Group.

The facility has 45,192 sq ft of hangar space, a workshop area of 10,760 sq ft, and a two-story, 11,300-sq-ft FBO building.

Jet Aviation Dubai recently concluded a successful C4 inspection on a Boeing Business Jet for an undisclosed client in the Middle East. The aircraft was redelivered early this month, eight days ahead of schedule. As part of the extensive C4 inspection, Jet Aviation tested the serviceability and functioning of specified areas, components and systems of the aircraft. The inspection required removal of the interior and auxiliary tanks to provide access to the structural components.
