Airbus- and Boeing-approved completion center Aeria Luxury Interiors of San Antonio, a subsidiary of ST Aerospace, highlighted its recent cabin refurbishment of a Boeing 767-200, and plans for its first BBJ green cabin completion. The BBJ is scheduled to arrive at Aeria from Boeing this December. Its interior will incorporate a humidification and zonal drying system to enhance passenger comfort, said Ron Soret, v-p and general manager for completions. Delivery to the customer is expected in October next year.

Fokker Services of the Netherlands, emphasizing its green ACJ and BBJ completions, touted the recent delivery to a Chinese customer of “the only A320 that can carry 26 passengers and be operated for commercial use,” said James Aspell, Fokker’s v-p for technical services and aircraft completions and conversions. The completion shows off both the company’s interiors artistry and its approvals agility.
Boeing’s ABACE static display featured a BBJ delivered by Bizjet International of Tulsa, Okla., Lufthansa Technik’s single-aisle completions subsidiary, to Nanshan Jet in October for an undisclosed Chinese customer.
China, as Asia’s largest prospective market for business aviation, always seemed an obvious choice as the location for the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE). But with demand for business aviation now bubbling in other parts of Asia, and the industry having to show patience in waiting for China to fulfill its potential, some have questioned whether organizer NBAA might consider freshening up the event in some other venue.
Completions, refurbishment and auxiliary fuel tank provider PATS Aircraft Systems of Delaware (Booth H412) announced here at ABACE 2014 the redelivery of a BBJ2 to the Government of Indonesia for presidential transport, and the contract award of a VVIP interior completion on a new BBJ2 for an Asia Pacific customer.

Boeing Business Jets (Chalet 7) announced last week the first sale of its new BBJ Max 8 executive airliner. Burbank, Calif.-based Avjet Corporation negotiated the deal on behalf of the purchaser, a current BBJ operator.
“Our VIP customers are always demanding new improvements in comfort, speed and range,” said Steve Taylor, president of BBJ Aircraft Division, which is based in Seattle, Wash. “The BBJ Max will extend our lead in this segment and ensures our customers getting the best of both worlds.”
Comlux has won a contract to conduct major maintenance and refurbishment work on a Boeing Business Jet “bizliner” based in Asia. The airliner-size business aircraft, operated on behalf of its private owner by Hong Kong-based management company Sino Jet, is due to arrive at the Comlux America completions center in Indianapolis during the second quarter of 2014 and will spend four months there.
At ABACE last year, Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) marked the service entry of a BBJ owned by charter operator Nanshan Jet Co., which is based in Yanti, China. This year BBJ and Nanshan Jet are partnering on their presence at ABACE 2014 and are also cohosting a dinner for select customers, according to Chuck Colburn, BBJ director of marketing.
Some 200 companies will be exhibiting at the three-day Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE), which starts next Tuesday at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. Organized by NBAA in partnership with the Shanghai Airport Authority, the event will be located once more at the Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre–a joint venture between the Shanghai Airport Authority and Hawker Pacific–with the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) co-hosting the event.
