Upgrades to the cabin of charter operator Fly Comlux’s 767 BBJ are complete and the aircraft is back in charter service. The Bahrain-based jet’s interior enhancements include re-upholstered seats in the executive cabin and entourage section, and new in-flight entertainment system, humidification system and carpeting. SwiftBroadband satcom for high-speed Wi-Fi Internet and a GSM onboard system has been installed throughout the cabin.

Aeria Luxury Interiors, the private jet business that ST Aerospace launched at the Singapore Airshow two years ago, is up and running in San Antonio, Texas, and has secured its first order for full completion of a green aircraft.
Business has been so good at West Coast charter/management firm Jet Edge International that the company devised an unusual arrangement to build a fleet of Gulfstream G200s. With a fleet consisting of mostly large-cabin Gulfstreams, Jet Edge has seen growing demand for the super-midsize charter market, and the G200s (and one G280, with two more coming) are ideal to fill that need, according to president Bill Papariella.
The third annual Abu Dhabi Air Expo, which opened today at Al Bateen Executive Airport, has become a prominent fixture of the Arabian Gulf general aviation sector, with about 13,000 visitors and 170 exhibiting companies at this year’s event. Around 13,000 visitors are expected by the 170 exhibiting companies.
Boeing Business Jets has delivered two BBJ 787-8 business jets since late January. Handover of the green aircraft took place the same week, to separate undisclosed customers, the airframer said.
It holds a total of 13 firm orders for the BBJ 787-8 and delivery of another three are planned this year. The first one had been delivered in December. Boeing claims the BBJ 787-8 has a range of about 9,260 nm.
Separately, the first BBJ 747-8 is expected to enter into service this year.
Growth is the word in the Asia-Pacific region, and since 2010 Jet Aviation Singapore has more than doubled the number of skilled workers it employs; three-quarters of the new employees are local hires. To meet growing demand for business aviation services in the region, Jet Aviation Singapore has raised its employee headcount to 123 from 59 in 2010 and plans to hire 13 more aviation professionals this year.
Associated Air Center (AAC) of Tempe, Arizona, has been awarded a contract for the custom interior completion of a Boeing 787-8 BBJ aircraft, and staffing, training and infrastructure development are under way in preparation for the project, the completion company announced. Delivery of the green aircraft from Boeing is expected in mid-2014, and full interior design review is currently under way.
Boeing Business Jets announced yesterday that it made the first two BBJ 787-8 deliveries of 2014 over the past week to separate undisclosed customers. These aircraft mark the second and third BBJ 787s delivered to date, after the first one was handed over to a customer in December. Like all BBJs, the airplanes were delivered green and are undergoing completion at third-party outfitting centers.
