Pending a judgment against Associated Air Center that could total as much as $49 million, the Dallas Love Field-based company is already planning an appeal. In the suit, brought by Tary Network and Citadella International Group in a Dallas district court, attorneys claimed that Associated and related entities engaged in a breach of contract “that led to tens of millions in losses for the jet owners, including lost profits, out-of-pocket damages and lost value.”

Aircraft window specialist ATG has been awarded contracts to supply its Powertech MS2 Window Shade Systems for two BBJ interior projects. Delivery of the two aircraft is slated for the third quarter.
Basel, Switzerland-based Amac Aerospace has been granted maintenance organization approval by the State Civil Aviation Administration of Russia. This approval allows Amac to perform base and line maintenance work on all Russian-owned business aircraft, including bizliners. It also allows Amac to undertake heavy maintenance work up to C-checks at its facility at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg. Since receiving the approval, Amac has worked on several Russian-owned jets, including the Gulfstream G450 and G550, Airbus ACJ319 and Boeing BBJ.
Zurich, Switzerland-based ExecuJet Aviation announced it has sourced, secured and delivered a pre-owned Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) in what it claims is a record–less than six weeks. Approached by the client in December, ExecuJet was tasked with ensuring the aircraft was delivered by the end of last month. The company delivered the aircraft on January 28 and the BBJ flew from Europe to the owner’s base in South Africa on January 31. ExecuJet Europe is managing the BBJ on behalf of the owner.
Jet Aviation has begun construction of a new hangar in Singapore to accommodate continued growth in its maintenance and FBO activities there. The company is the latest multinational to opt for a new facility at the island state’s Seletar Airport, which has been redeveloped significantly in the past few years as an aerospace and general aviation center. Jet Aviation first landed at Seletar 1995, taking over a 29,400-sq-ft World War II-vintage hangar that it still occupies.
Jet Aviation Geneva received EASA Part 145 approval for line and base maintenance on the Gulfstream G650 in December. The Geneva facility, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gulfstream parent General Dynamics, is now authorized for all Gulfstream models through the G650. The facility also holds authorizations to maintain Globals, BBJs, Hawkers, Falcon 50/900/2000s and the Citation 550/560XL/XLS. In addition to EASA and FAA Part 145, Jet Aviation Geneva also holds approvals for Aruba, Bermuda, Brazil, Cayman, Qatar, South Africa and the UAE.
Lufthansa Technik (Stand 335) is preparing to receive a second Boeing 747-8 for VIP conversion by the company’s VIP & Executive Jet Solutions division at its Hamburg plant. The first 747-8 arrived at the end of August and is now into its completion program while the second aircraft is scheduled to arrive later this month, following contract signature at the Dubai Air Show last year.
Royal Jet will celebrate its tenth anniversary next May, and the company is reporting significant growth and its busiest year so far. Last year Royal Jet operated 3,135 flights to 370 cities in 136 countries, and this year already is set to exceed this figure. Revenues in the first quarter of 2012 were up 15 percent, while the company’s summer performance saw a 19-percent increase in flying hours over the same period in 2011.
The Hyundai Motor Co. has selected Iacobucci HF to provide seating for its new Boeing BBJ, just a few months after Iacobucci launched its new VIP seat business. With the support of Avjet, Comlux America will outfit the BBJ, the second of the type in Iacobucci’s orderbook. Boeing will deliver the bizliner to Comlux in the second quarter of next year and it should be completed within the year.
Honeywell (Stand 625) has received EASA certification of its Ovation Select cabin management system (CMS) for the Boeing BBJ and, in partnership with Jet Aviation, delivered the first system to a BBJ3 customer in the Middle East. Jet Aviation Basel (Stand 590) did the completion project on the BBJ3, including installation of a Honeywell MCS-7200 satellite communications system.
