The University of Florida Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation, is offering a means to dispose of a retired aircraft in an environmentally friendly manner and in a way that benefits the university’s goals.

Western Aircraft expects to open its newly renovated, full-service interior shop this month at its Boise, Idaho facility. Dubbed the “Interior Re-Completion Center,” it includes a 1,600-sq-ft paint booth for interior components and another 8,000 sq ft for upholstery and soft goods application. The center is housed in an existing hangar renovated for the express purpose of expanding Western’s cabin refurbishment capacity.
Boise, Idaho-based Western Aircraft is offering FBO customers a new concierge-style service called Gold Standard. Arriving aircraft will be assisted by a Western Aircraft ramp coordinator, who will take care of all passenger, crew and aircraft needs. According to the company, services–including arranging for ground transportation and sprucing up the cabin–are provided free to customers.
The FAA is reviewing a proposed noise-compatibility program for Boise Air Terminal/Gowen Field, Idaho. The program, being developed under Part 150, is scheduled to be approved or rejected next February 13. Comments are due October 12. For more information, contact the FAA at (425) 227-2653.
