Dubai airport-based Elite Jets is marking its first anniversary here at the Dubai airshow by exhibiting alongside Raytheon Aircraft (Stand E501). Recent news from the private charter operator includes the delivery of a second owned Hawker 1000 business jet, an agreement with a tour operator and a block-booking contract with independent aircraft charter broker International Air Charter (IAC).

Raytheon announced a broadening of its Hawker product line by introducing the Hawker 900XP and the Hawker 750, both derivatives of the Hawker 850XP. The models will replace the Hawker 850XP when they begin entering service.

Hawker Siddeley HS.125-600B, Québec, Feb. 21, 2005–In night IMC, Hawker N21SA landed 300 feet to the left of Runway 5L at Bromont Airport, Québec. The runway lights were inoperative, but a notam had been issued. The airplane was substantially damaged; the pilot, copilot and one passenger were seriously injured.

Raytheon Hawker 1000 (BAE 125-1000A), San Francisco, Sept. 11, 2004–The NTSB attributed the Hawker 1000 accident to an electrical arc from an undetermined source, which initiated a hydraulic line rupture, resulting in an equipment bay fire.

What’s old is new again. We’ve heard it so often, it must be true, and those who believe it will not be surprised to see refurbished Hawker 1000s rolling out of the shops at Duncan Aviation and Elliott Aviation.
