UAS International Trip Support, with regional headquarters in several cities around the world, has brought members of its Americas team to LABACE 2014. Leading the team, which is based in Houston, Texas, are Jay Ammar Husary, UAS senior director-operations and sales, and Ryan Frankhouser, regional director, UAS Americas. Also here at LABACE is São Paolo-based Carlos Vieira, UAS business development manager for South America.

Bombardier Aerospace has upgraded maintenance capabilities at Aerovitro of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and Aviacion Atlantico Sur (AASSA) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Aerovitro has been appointed an authorized service facility (ASF) for the Challenger 300 and 604/605 while Aviacion Atlantico Sur is now an AOG line maintenance facility (LMF) for the Challenger 604/605.

Argentine President Nestor Kirchner disclosed on March 15 that the country would end military control of ATC services and signed a decree creating the National Civil Aviation Authority. The government is still working on a timetable to make the transfer, but according to local sources it should conclude by the end of this year.
