Carpet manufacturer Tai Ping has launched the Vestige Collection, which consists of 21 designs that have been recolored for the aviation market. The hand-tufted carpets are made of New Zealand wool and silk, with jute and flax as accents, and are offered in golden browns, ecru, bronze and gray-blues. New York-based Tai Ping is exhibiting here at Booth No. 3241.

AeroSea Carpet of Calhoun, Ga. (Booth No. 4009) is making its NBAA convention debut, introducing its new, densely woven New Zealand wool products:  Airstream, Runway, Diamonds and Tiger. The contemporary and transitional designs feature AeroSea’s hand-embossed technique.

Edelman Leather is introducing an addition to its line of fine leathers for aircraft interiors– one with a little more hair than usual. The New Milford, Conn.-based company is calling it the “leather fur rugs” line. The particular breed of cow from which the hides are taken is without the distinctive markings typical of some breeds and is an overall beige, gray, brown or black of varying shades.

Tai Ping Carpets of Nanhai in the People’s Republic of China hit a luxury note at the NBAA Convention with its custom recycled yarn lamps and “fabric” stools of silks and wools. The highlight of the exhibit was a richly colored Yukata area rug from the company’s new Haiku collection, inspired by the beauty of the Japanese poetry form and traditional Japanese ornamentation and decorative arts.

Precision Pattern, a Wichita-based specialist in aircraft interior cabinetry and finish, has signed an agreement with Appearance Group to provide after-market support in terms of touch-up, repair and mechanical adjustments for cabin cabinetry. As part of the agreement, Appearance Group will receive training and instruction from Precision Pattern.

Not so long ago, the owner of an executive Boeing 737 approached the aircraft carpeting specialists at Kalogridis International with a rather unusual request. The floor of the foreign-registered airplane was covered in common stick-down felt carpet tiles, and he wanted the same thing in a replacement carpet.
