Danish commercial airline Cimber Sterling has selected StandardAero for its CFM International CFM56-7B engine maintenance services. The work is being performed at StandardAero’s GE-Designated Fulfillment Center in Winnipeg, Canada. According to StandardAero it has already completed two major repair events on Cimber Sterling’s CFM56-7B engines. The partnership was established with Cimber Sterling’s request for StandardAero to manage the MRO effort, including shipping and logistics, lease engine support, on-wing removal and re-installation, and core overhaul of engines.
Lufthansa CityLine is looking at the Bombardier and Embraer regional jet families as alternatives to the firm order for sixty 728JETs that it had placed with airframer Fairchild Dornier. During the ERA assembly, the German regional’s managing director, Karl-Heinz Kopfle, said Bombardier’s CRJ700 and -900s are under consideration, as is the Embraer 170.
Denmark’s Cimber Aviation Group has won a contract with Avions de Transport Regional to perform E Class cargo conversions for the ATR 72. Already an ATR 42 cargo converter, Cimber (Hall 3 Stand F1) will convert its first ATR 72 for Ireland’s Air Contractors. The Irish air freight company has added seven ATRs to its now nine-strong fleet over the past year.
Danish regional airline Cimber Air is preparing to establish corporate shuttle services to connect companies on the Danish mainland with their satellite production operations in the Ukraine. Firms are being invited to buy blocks of between 20 and 100 one-way flights for the services, which will initially run only on Mondays and Fridays.
