Business aviation has more than a toehold in Russia, as evidenced by this photo shot recently at Moscow Vnukovo Airport. On the ramp in the foreground are a pair of Challengers, a pair of Learjet 45s and two Hawkers. Rampant construction is obviously under way, indicating that future expansion is included in the airport’s master plan for private aircraft.
NBAA will host its Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE2005) from August 9 to 11 next year in Shanghai, China. ABACE2005 will be the “first major Asian exhibition focused solely on business aviation in Asia, an emerging market with great potential for business aircraft and related products and services,” NBAA said.
All major business aircraft manufacturers are among the 29 exhibitors already booked for the first full Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE), which will be held in Shanghai, China, from August 9 to 11.
Operators of foreign business aircraft need all the help they can get in China. Shanghai’s Foreign Aircraft Service (Fasco), operating since 1988 under the authority of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, can secure necessary government approvals in as timely a manner as possible. Fasco operates a dedicated business aircraft ramp at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport.
FBO chain SheltAir last month finished building its executive terminal at Isla Grande Executive Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The FBO, which opened for business in San Juan last summer, said the new terminal features “state-of-the-art amenities.” In addition to San Juan, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based SheltAir also operates facilities at six airports in Florida, as well as the sole general aviation facility at New York La Guardia Airport.
The latest addition to the SheltAir FBO chain is up and running at San Juan (Puerto Rico) Isla Grande Executive Airport (TJIG). Headed by general manager Jamai Hensel, the staff of SheltAir San Juan provides 24-hour service just minutes’ drive from the city’s hotels, casinos, cruise ports, arenas and beaches. Among the attractions are the city’s opera house, the fine-arts district, a brand-new convention center and Old San Juan section.
