Jet Aviation Moscow has signed an agreement with Kazan-based Tulpar Interior Group to offer scheduled full interior refurbishment capabilities out of Jet Aviation’s maintenance facility at Moscow Vnukovo Airport. New services include: carpet replacement; minor repair or replacement of interior components; rejuvenation and protective coating of leather surfaces; fabrication of new seat upholstery; repair or replacement of coating or headlining on windows and other panels; and rectification of any decorative varnish defects on veneer and hardwood surfaces.
Bowman Plating, a chemical processing company located in Compton, Calif., was sentenced in U.S. District Court, Los Angeles, for providing false statements related to the chemical processing of aircraft parts sold to commercial aviation companies and to the Department of Defense. Bowman was ordered to pay a fine of $500,000, a special assessment of $1,200, and to serve three years of probation.
Rolls-Royce’s U.S. branch has acquired the exclusive rights to use a new heat-resistant turbine blade coating invented by Iowa State University. The coating improves the durability and reliability of the ceramic thermal barrier applied to the blades to withstand metal temperatures approaching 2,100 degrees Fahrenheit.
