It takes the right tooling to make a helicopter come together, and sometimes it takes teamwork to create that tooling. Professional Aviation Associates (Booth No. 4006), a subsidiary of Greenwich AeroGroup, worked in tandem with Aerosync Engineering & Consulting recently to deliver two UH60 Black Hawk fuselage and tailcone alignment fixtures to the Colombian air force.
Colombian Air Force
Having delivered a pod-equipped Boeing 767 multi-mission tanker transport (MMTT) to the Colombian air force in late 2010, IAI’s Bedek Aircraft division has now added a flying boom option to its MMTT offering. The design of the boom has been finalized and testing completed. The boom is an IAI-designed fly-by-wire (FBW) unit controlled from a remote air refueling operator’s station on the flight deck.
Earlier this month Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) began flight trials of the single Boeing 767-200ER it has converted to multi-mission tanker transport (MMTT) configuration for the Columbian air force (Fuerza Aérea Colombiana). During the initial 3.5-hour post-conversion flight, the MMTT successfully cleared the full flight envelope, and subsequently engaged in refueling trials with an IAI Kfir C10 fighter.
