Airbus announced yesterday here at EBACE that Comlux Completion has become a 40-percent shareholder in the new Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC) in Toulouse, France. Comlux Completion is a joint venture between Comlux Aviation Group, launch customer for the A318 Elite (whose aircraft can be seen in the static park), and Bahrain-based Maz Consultancy.

Airbus Industrie began final assembly of the first Airbus A318 at its plant in Hamburg, Germany, when on August 9 it joined the 107-seat jet’s forward and aft fuselage sections. The A318, smallest member of the A320 family, will become the third Airbus type assembled outside the company’s primary plant in Toulouse, France. Airbus also builds the A319 and A321 in Germany.

The Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) received FAA type certification on October 28. The approval came just over three years after the large-cabin bizjet was certified by Europe’s Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) and clears the way for deliveries in the U.S.

In what is the second commitment for the newest member of the Airbus corporate jetliner family, an unidentified Asian customer has placed a firm order for an Airbus A350XWB Prestige. The aircraft will feature a VIP interior and will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB87 engines. The choice of cabin outfitter has yet to be announced.

Airbus yesterday signed an order for an Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) from C Jet Limited, a Hong Kong company owned by a private individual. The new bizliner will be managed and operated by BAA Jet Management, also of Hong Kong, which has placed orders for an ACJ and an A318 Elite. The C Jet ACJ will be the second such aircraft under BAA Jet’s management.

The Airbus Corporate Jetliner Center in Toulouse, France, which opened for business in July, has taken in its first two aircraft for cabin outfitting, both from the ACJ line and both to be furnished with executive interiors for private owners.

The Airbus Corporate Jet Centre in Toulouse, France, has received its first two aircraft for cabin outfitting and expects to have invested $7 million by the time improvements are complete early next year.

The first two airplanes are from the Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) family and will be equipped with executive/VIP cabins for private owners.
