After the Transportation Security Administration issued a notice of proposed rulemaking for FAA-certified Part 145 repair station security on November 17, comments from those affected started accumulating in the public docket.
Public comments released last month on an FAR Part 161 noise study at Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport (BUR) support a nighttime curfew (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.) on all aircraft operations except certain emergencies, military flights and those delayed for reasons beyond the control of the operator.
The FAA today issued a notice of proposed rulemaking requesting comments to identify regulations currently in effect that should be amended, removed or simplified. “Getting public comments is a necessary element of our effort to make our regulations more effective and less burdensome,” the agency said.
Comments are due July 10 on an FAA request for comments on Part 135 duty, flight and rest time rules. The agency has received several requests for an interpretation of FAR 135.263(d) and 135.267(b), (d) and (e).
