CRS Jet Spares announced recertification of its quality management system by the Bureau Veritas Certification in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 and the corresponding SAE aerospace standard, AS9120. This new certification also includes the continuation of accreditation to FAA AC 00-56. The original certification was granted in December 2005 and this recertification extends CRS’s validity through December 2011.
Following a review of its operations by efficiency consultants, CRS Jet Spares has revealed a range of measures that will help the Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based company “go green.” These include encouraging car pooling, reducing paper waste, recycling packaging material, placing recycling bins around the company’s facilities, changing to high-efficiency lighting and eliminating Styrofoam cups with “long-lasting, eco-friendly coffee mugs.”
CRS Jet Spares is offering additional support for Premier I airframes. The company recently parted out a Premier I, making component and structural items available for Premier operators. The inventory includes many key items such as Collins displays, computers, pumps, leading edges, actuators, oxygen masks, inverters and seats.
The Aviation Suppliers Association (ASA) has awarded its quality system standard ASA-100 to CRS Jet Spares. ASA developed the quality standard to satisfy the requirements outlined in FAA Advisory Circular AC No. 00-56A, which describes the voluntary industry distributor accreditation program.
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, CRS Jet Spares is giving 15 finalists a chance to win a 2007 Ford Mustang GT convertible.
An unidentified “multi-airframe fleet operator based in Georgia” has inked a deal with CRS Jet Spares to be its primary supplier for Gulfstream and Learjet parts. CRS Jet Spares will handle AOG, logistic and inventory control functions to increase dispatch reliability throughout the customer’s fleet. Under the terms of the agreement, CRS will position inventory at various strategic locations and provide 24/7 coverage for AOG requirements.
Aftermarket support facility CRS has signed with aircraft transparency OEM Perkins to market, distribute and support business jet cabin and cockpit transparencies.
In addition, CRS plans to add support for window servicing through the Perkins facility in the near future. CRS supports Learjets, Hawkers, Gulfstreams, Challengers, Beechjets, Citations and Falcons.
Hundreds of people surrounded CRS Jet Spares’ NBAA booth as the company announced that Amy Smith of Averitt Air in Nashville, Tenn., was the winner of a 2006 Harley-Davidson XL 883 Sportster motorcycle.
CRS Jet Spares president Armando Leighton Jr. has announced that the Fort Lauderdale, Fla. company has been audited and is on track for AS9120 accreditation as a “Stockist Distributor.” The standard includes the ISO9001:2000 quality-management system, as well as additional aviation industry requirements.
