STS Component Solutions has opened a new support office in Turkey and hired Omur Basol to spearhead its marketing and sales activities. Basol is a former purchasing executive for several Turkish airlines and MROs. The new office complements existing locations in the U.S., Brazil, Europe and Singapore. “Expanding our global footprint is an essential step in our strategic growth strategy,” said Tom Covella, group president. “We are excited to provide expanded support to our customers while continuing to meet growing demands within the Turkish region.”

Business aircraft support services firm Euro Jet Intercontinental has added locations in Turkey, expanding its presence in this country. The expansion, facilitated via a partnership with Bee Jet, includes all major Turkish airports–Ataturk and Sabiha Gokcen in Istanbul; Ankara; Izmir; and Adana. Euro Jet Turkey includes the same service provided at the company’s more than 200 locations throughout Europe and Asia. This includes on-ground Euro Jet agents, crew lounges, ramp cars, supervised catering, discounted hotel rooms and the coordination of fueling and permits.
In February this year the operations of Gozen Air Services (Stand E240) at Istanbul's Ataturk airport ranked number one in a reader survey of European FBOs, conducted by European Business Air News. At face value, it was a surprise choice given that the Turkish operation was competing against much higher-profile FBOs in Europe.
U.S. systems and services company Goodrich has embarked on its first joint venture in Turkey with the signature of a memorandum of understanding with Istanbul-based Turkish Technic for nacelle maintenance and repair work.
The deal calls for the new company, Goodrich HABOM, to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services and rotable support for the fast-growing Turkish Airlines fleet of Airbuses and Boeings.
