NBAA and the Associação Brasileira de Aviação Geral (ABAG) disclosed yesterday that they have ‘deferred’ this year’s Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (LABACE 2006), citing problems with the host airport. The event, which was scheduled for August 10 to 12, won’t take place as planned, NBAA said, because of significant issues related to an accelerated construction project at Congonhas Airport in São Paulo, Brazil.

To better serve operators in Brazil and Latin America, Dassault, along with Honeywell and Pratt & Whitney, is tripling the stockpile of spare parts in Brazil. The parts will be housed at Morro Vermelho Taxi Aero (MTVA) on São Paulo’s Congonhas Airport. MTVA is a Dassault authorized service center.

Jet Aviation has opened an office in São Paulo, Brazil, to offer aircraft charter, management and sales in Latin America. The Swiss group’s new premises are located close to São Paulo’s Congonhas Airport, the city’s main gateway for business aircraft. Jet Aviation has hired two former executives from the corporate aviation division
of Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer to run the new Latin American operation.
