The Astral Design Series includes cabin designs based on “intelligent ergonomics and socio-cultural design.”

Yasava Solutions, in a joint venture with MCM Design Studio, has taken jet cabin design in a new direction it says is based on “intelligent ergonomics and socio-cultural design.”

In May, the cabin design and engineering firm introduced its dramatic Astral Design Series interior proposals for large-cabin business jets. According to CEO Christopher Mbanefo, the firm has been in talks with major OEMs, and the Astral series was created with the Falcon 7X, Global 6000 and G650 cabins in mind.

While many in the business aviation industry still eye China as fertile territory, a new report from business aviation consulting firm Asian Sky Group (ASG) predicts the Greater China market will see less than half the growth it experienced last year. In its First-half 2013 Greater China Fleet Additions Report, the Hong Kong-based company says that the Chinese fleet of new and used business jets is expected to increase by approximately 18 percent this year, compared with 40-percent growth last year (albeit from a smaller base total).

Jet Aviation and Vienna-based Art Aviation have reached an agreement whereby Jet Aviation will serve as the exclusive maintenance provider for Art Aviation’s fleet of aircraft. Founded in 2012, Art Aviation operates two Bombardier Global XRSs, two Global 6000s, a Boeing BBJ1 and a Dassault Falcon 900EX and Falcon 7X. Jet Aviation will provide scheduled base maintenance from its facilities in Basel or Geneva and line maintenance from its Moscow Vnukovo facility.

Honeywell’s Primus Epic EASy II flight deck has been certified on Dassault’s new, large-cabin Falcon 2000S and 2000LXS.

Dassault Aviation comes to this year’s Paris Air Show with two newly certified business jets: the large-cabin Falcon 2000S and Falcon 2000LXS. Both received EASA and FAA approvals in March. The first Falcon 2000S was delivered in April to a Turkish customer. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half for the 2000LXS, when it replaces the 2000LX.

The Legacy cabin’s components–galleys, doors and partitions–have been reworked with block-mottled Makore wood, also known as African cherry due to its deep reddish-brown color.

Auch, France-based JCB Aero (Booth 2243) has completed an extensive woodwork job as part of an Embraer Legacy 600 refurbishment, it announced here at EBACE. The describes itself as a fully skilled completion center for business aircraft.

Falcon 900 winglet

Aviation Partners, Inc. (API, Booth 283) is anticipating EASA certification of its winglets for retrofit to Dassault Falcon 50 jets in the coming weeks. The expected approval will be the European counterpart of the FAA supplemental type certificate received in September 2012. The aerodynamic devices are the same “high-Mach blended winglets” currently available on the Falcon 2000 and 900 series (all three Falcon series share the same wing) and are promised to provide drag reduction and corresponding range increase of “5 to 7 percent at typical intermediate to long range cruise speeds.”

Montreal-based simulation and training provider CAE (Booth 372) has announced here at EBACE new training programs, expanded offerings and contract extensions for and within the business aviation community.

CAE RealCase Troubleshooting for maintenance training, introduced at the show, uses the same principles behind the RealCase recurrent training developed for pilots, incorporating recent real-life event scenarios. The training is available for the Dassault Falcon 7X, 900EX EASy and 2000EX EASy models.

A Dassault Falcon 7X operated by Swiss-based Amjet Executive has become the first aircraft of its type to be fitted with OnAir’s in-flight mobile phone and Wi-Fi equipment. The charter operator started offering passengers the connectivity services on May 1, just five months after Dassault announced the availability of Mobile OnAir and Internet OnAir as line-fit options on the long-range 7X in December 2012. Amjet took delivery of its 7X from Dassault’s completions center in Little Rock, Arkansas, on April 26.
