Bell Opens Ops Center in New Delhi

Bell Helicopter opened a new office in New Delhi today for all of its operations in India. The company has had a presence in India for nearly 20 years, opening a liaison office in 1995. There are currently more than 100 Bell helicopters operating throughout India, it noted.

“We believe there are tremendous growth opportunities in terms of sales and manufacturing [in India],” said Bell president and CEO John Garrison. “This is an important day for Bell Helicopter as we celebrate our continued commitment and partnership with our customers in India.”

Indian operator offers airport ‘shuttle’

India-based Deccan Aviation is offering on-demand helicopter “shuttle” flights between Bangalore’s international airport and Electronic City and HAL airport, two business districts that are a two-hour drive from the city. Per-person prices for one-way trips are close to $130 for Electronic City and $105 for HAL airport.
Indian charter firm predicts bizav growth

Indian executive charter firm Deccan Aviation, based in Bangalore, is evaluating aircraft from Gulfstream, Bombardier and Cessna with a view to adding up to 15 jets to its fleet over the next five years. The firm already has nine helicopters and a pair of Pilatus PC-12 turboprops, but now needs jet equipment to meet rising demand in India’s fast-growing economy.
