Landmark Aviation completed the acquisition of Ross Aviation’s network of 18 U.S. FBOs on Friday. The former Ross Aviation facilities, which are now operating under the Landmark banner, are located in major cities and resort destinations within the U.S., including Denver; Santa Fe, N.M.; Miami; and six locations in Hawaii. The acquisition increased the size of Landmark’s network from 57 to 75 locations globally.

Photographer Mike Sellers shot a thrilling close-up video of the mid-afternoon June 18 tornado that formed over Denver International Airport (KDEN). Winds were later calculated at 100 mph. No one was injured as the storm, which never actually touched down, moved over the airport.

The volume of general aviation arrivals for the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Denver was less than predicted, according to Denver-area FBOs serving the turbine-powered fleet. As a result, the Special Traffic Management Plan (STMP) that Denver Tracon prepared for the event had not gone into effect by the start of the convention.

XJet’s private jet facility at Denver’s Centennial Airport opened late last month. XJet members get to use the new facility, which will eventually include four large hangars for member aircraft, a lounge, library, fine art gallery, conference rooms, underground car parking and a five-star restaurant. Members receive a substantial fuel discount that will also be available at participating FBOs elsewhere.
