Dutchess County Airport

Aviation services provider Richmor Aviation has shuttered its FBO facility at Dutchess County Airport in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., after three decades of operation there. The company also operated a Part 145 repair and overhaul station, a flight school and an aircraft sales and charter operation at the airport. The closure leaves Dutchess Aviation, the county-owned FBO, as the lone service provider on the airport.

Sikorsky’s Associated Aircraft Group (AAG) has established a base at New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport (TEB) to provide access to Manhattan from all metro-area airports.

The flight from TEB to the Wall Street heliport takes less than 10 minutes. AAG will be providing the service in S-76s configured for seven passengers and crewed by two pilots. The helicopters are equipped with emergency pop-out floats, EGPWS and traffic avoidance systems.

After opening its newest FBO last July at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, N.Y., Richmor Aviation is designing a new FBO terminal and the first phase of a planned three-phase hangar construction project. The Stewart FBO is the company’s fourth, joining facilities at New York’s Columbia County, Schenectady and Dutchess County airports and a standalone hangar at Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Connecticut.

Oxford Airport is continuing to develop as a business aviation gateway for central and southern England, with the completion this month of a new 21,000-sq-ft hangar and the arrival of new based operators. The new hangar eleven will be large enough for a Boeing Business Jet.
