The long-awaited auction of the assets of bankrupt Eclipse Aviation could occur on June 24, according to Mike Press, owner of Eclipse 500 S/N 004 and president and CEO of Single Pilot Jet Management. Press and Eclipse depositor Mason Holland have formed a company, now named Eclipse Aerospace, to bid on the Eclipse assets.

Bend, Ore.-based Epic Aircraft launched a pair of turbine twins at the Sun ’n’ Fun Fly-In in Lakeland, Fla., last month. The new $5 million Elegance turboprop twin and $2.2 million Genesis twinjet share the same basic fuselage as the eight-seat Dynasty turboprop single, although the 419-knot, 1,700-nm Elegance is stretched to accommodate 10 while the 395-knot, 1,260-nm Genesis can seat six.

Former American Airlines chief Robert Crandall’s plans to blanket the Northeast U.S. with a fleet of air-taxi Eclipse 500 very light jets under the Pogo Jet brand name have come to an end. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Pogo Jet of Chicopee, Mass., applied to withdraw its registration statement for an initial public stock offering.

Roel Pieper’s European Technology and Investment Research Center (Etirc) has filed for bankruptcy, ending Etirc Aviation’s once-lofty plans to distribute Eclipse 500s in Europe and Russia and build an Eclipse assembly plant in Russia. Etirc announced plans to become an Eclipse distributor and help companies operate air-taxi networks two years ago.
