Eclipse Aerospace has located its first Platinum service center in Europe for Eclipse EA500 aircraft service, maintenance and modifications. Located in Istanbul, Turkey, Eclipse Aerospace General Aviation will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul support for Eclipse EA500 operators in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) approved Eclipse Aerospace as its newest member, bringing the international trade association’s membership to 67. Albuquerque, N.M.-based Eclipse Aerospace is providing service for the fleet of more than 250 Eclipse 500s. The company acquired the former Eclipse Aviation out of bankruptcy in September.

Last year, Friedman mounted an effort to bid on the assets of bankrupt very light jet manufacturer Eclipse Aviation, although he never made it into the final bidding. An auction for Epic’s assets–Epic Air, Aircraft Investor Resources and Aircraft Completion Services–was scheduled for March 26.
