Elliott Aviation has added a fifth project manager, Dave Hulme, at its headquarters in Moline, Ill. The appointment comes shortly after the company revealed plans to create 50 new positions by 2015. Plans also include a long-term lease on an additional 24,000 sq ft of maintenance hangar capacity. Hulme joined Elliott Aviation in 1994 as a parts associate and brings 25 years of aviation experience to the position.
Moline, Ill.-based Elliott Aviation has promoted Greg Sahr to president from vice president of sales, marketing and business development. In his new role, Sahr will focus on strengthening the company’s brand, enhancing the customer experience, increasing efficiencies, solidifying industry partnerships and developing new business opportunities. Sahr started as an avionics installer at ElectroSonics and progressed through several sales leadership positions at ElectroSonics’ successor companies.
Elliott Aviation announced plans to add 50 new jobs and invest $1.8 million over the next two years for improvements at its Quad City International Airport location in Moline, Ill. Currently, Elliott Aviation has 240 full-time employees; with the planned expansion, the company anticipates growing to nearly 300 employees in the next two years.
Elliott Aviation has hired Joe Daugherty to be the MRO provider’s paint and interior sales director. Previously he spent 26 years in aircraft modification and sales, and was most recently the modification sales manager at StandardAero in Springfield, Ill. During his career, Daugherty helped develop the Falcon 20 and Falcon 50 interior retrofit program with Garrett Aviation, helped develop and market new interior shell panels and design configuration for the Falcon 900 and has won multiple awards as top sales performer.
Elliott Aviation of Moline, Ill., is waiting for the outcome of a vote on Illinois House Bill 4110 before making an expansion decision. It would grant tax-exempt status on two parcels of ground the MRO leases on Quad-City International Airport, as well as exemption from future property taxes on new improvements. The company released a statement saying it would evaluate other areas of the country for expansion if the bill failed to pass.
Elliott Aviation has completed installation or secured signed contracts to perform installation of the Garmin G1000 in a total of 50 King Airs of various models.

Gulfstream Aerospace has named Jace Stone as director, product support sales for the western U.S. and western Canada. Before his promotion, Stone was a national sales manager for Gulfstream product support sales in south Texas.
Brazil's Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) has awarded Elliott Aviation an STC for the installation of Rockwell Collins's traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS 4000) in the Hawker Beechcraft King Air 200 and 300 series. Elliott Aviation previously earned certification for the installation from the FAA. The installation costs approximately $200,000, would be done at Elliott's Moline, Ill.
Moline, Ill.-based Elliott Aviation has received a supplemental type certificate from the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) of Brazil for the installation of the Rockwell Collins TCAS 4000 traffic alert and collision avoidance system in Beechcraft King Air 200s and 300s. The MRO previously obtained FAA certification.
