Brazilian manufacturer Embraer announced on Monday here at ABACE that it received another order for its Lineage 1000. The order is for a single aircraft, which is scheduled for delivery to an undisclosed Chinese customer in the first half of this year, according to Ernest Edwards, president of Embraer Executive Jets. The order builds on previous successes, including an order from Minsheng Financial Leasing for five Lineages.

Among the companies making their ABACE debut this year is Nextant Aviation, which is displaying its Nextant 400XT, the remanufactured version of the Beechjet 400 series light jet. The company is poised to play a major part in the Asian entry-level jet market, which currently totals only 342 aircraft worth an approximate $1.23 billion but has huge regional potential. In little more than a year, the company has delivered 26 aircraft to operators in six countries.
Embraer’s first Phenom 300 twinjet manufactured in the U.S. and delivered to a buyer left the company’s Melbourne, Fla. facility on March 29. The identity of the jet’s buyer was not disclosed. “This is a major milestone for Embraer Executive Jets and proves the maturity of our assembly facilities,” said Phil Krull, managing director of Melbourne assembly for Embraer Executive Jets. “We have quickened the manufacturing pace and will be able to accommodate a more demanding schedule.”
An Embraer Phenom 300 set three speed records for its class when it flew from Embraer Executive Jets’ headquarters at Melbourne (Fla.) International Airport (MLB) to Daugherty Field in Long Beach, Calif., with only one fuel stop. On the first leg, the twinjet flew the 1,380-nm route to El Paso (Tex.) International Airport in four hours, 16 minutes and 33 seconds. After a 27-minute fuel stop, it proceeded to Long Beach, completing the 607-nm leg in one hour, 55 minutes and 20 seconds.
Despite soft pricing for light jets in both the pre-owned and charter markets in recent years, Nextant Aerospace is convinced that the time is right for its 400XT. According to the U.S.
Fractional share provider Flight Options’ business is growing at a healthy clip, the Cleveland, Ohio-based company announced yesterday. “We’re definitely seeing a significant increase in hours flown and customer utilization,” said Matt Doyle, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “We’re seeing folks are much more comfortable using their hours. On the business side, they’re using their airplanes to meet customers and clients and expand their business. On the personal side more folks are flying.”
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport-based Constant Aviation has been named a top-10 dealer for Aircell products. The MRO surpassed $1.5 million in sales with Aircell for 2012.
Embraer announced yesterday that it delivered 99 business jets last year, matching its total deliveries in 2011.
In the fourth quarter the Brazilian company shipped 53 business jets, three more than in the same quarter in 2011 and seven more than it did in the combined first three quarters of 2012. By model, the Brazilian OEM delivered 13 Phenom 100s, 24 Phenom 300s, 15 Legacy 650s and one Lineage 1000 in the last quarter. During the first three quarters of last year Embraer handed over 16 Phenom 100s, 24 Phenom 300s, four Legacy 650s, one Lineage 1000 and one ERJ shuttle.
Embraer Executive Jets has launched the Embraer Executive Care (EEC) Engine Add-On option, which complements the EEC and the Eagle Service Plan (ESP) programs. The new EEC Engine Add-On option helps Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 operators to streamline and simplify invoice and payment processes, addressing what Embraer says is one of its customers’ main concerns.
