The Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust–funded in memory of aviation pioneer Emil Buehler–has pledged $2 million toward building an aviation maintenance science building at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach campus. The 46,000-sq-ft facility, which will be named the Emil Buehler Aviation Maintenance Science building, will serve students enrolled in Embry-Riddle’s Aviation Maintenance Science program.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is adding a center of excellence dedicated to advanced aeronautics and propulsion system research to its College of Engineering in Daytona Beach, Fla. With a $2 million, three-year budget, the center is Embry-Riddle’s contribution to the Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion (FCAAP) project.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will be highlighting its new aviation Ph.D. degree program at the NBAA Convention next week. The program will be available online through its Worldwide Campus division, and there will be three available cognates: operations, security and safety, but only operations will be available to students enrolled in the first class in May.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Houston-based aircraft handling agent Air Routing International are preparing an online professional development program for business aviation schedulers. The program will be offered by NBAA and will be modeled after the association’s corporate aviation management certificate program for flight department managers.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is scheduled to begin graduate and undergraduate degree classes in professional aeronautics and technical management. The courses will be held at the Evergreen Aviation Museum and the Capt. Michael King Smith Educational Institute in McMinnville, Ore.
